Back in the days, the words “adventurer” and “entrepreneur” were interchangeable, and so today, entrepreneurs are the adventurers of the 21st Century. These are the ones pushing the limits, questioning what is possible, cutting new paths forward and integrating the new and unknown into society.
My name is Jesse van Doren, founder of Brize - a full service agency, such as Marketing, in Rotterdam - and a young entrepreneur who has proven to have the ambition and know-how to convert a new idea or invention into a successful innovation. I pride myself of being able to take an idea and turn it into a living, breathing, viable organization. I am not only a thinker but also a doer; having a passion for what I do makes ‘hard worker’ part of my DNA.
What is Entrepreneurship?
Entrepreneurship is all about blazing new trails, not only do you have to believe in yourself, your business and your mission, you also have to inspire others so they feel compelled to follow the process of your journey. As an entrepreneur, there is a constant hunger for making things better, it is imagining new ways to solve problems and create value. Imagine yourself heading into uncharted territory; it rarely becomes obvious what steps to take next, forcing you to rely on yourself when you run into problems.
Are entrepreneurs born or made?
One of the many doubts regarding the entrepreneurship world revolves around the skills of an entrepreneur. Are entrepreneurs born or made? This is a matter of nature versus nurture but I believe that although somewhat born with an entrepreneurial spirit and innate abilities, the majority of an entrepreneur’s success is made by life experience. People have an enormous capacity for change, during our lifetime, we grow and undertake new and more challenging tasks, and so become more confident. Likewise, information can also be learned through lessons, and as that knowledge expands, other intangibles such as our ability to calculate risk also grows.

Although young, I have years of experience of working with world-known brands such as Google, Netflix and Tesla, among others. I have also evolved personally and professionally through my own agency - Brize. Starting at 11 years of age, I have a constant hunger for success, for creating innovative and new solutions to already-existing problems among societies. I speak from a personal perspective, highlighting my own experience throughout my journey as an entrepreneur, helping and working with hundreds of organizations of different scales and diverse needs, implementing unique yet successful strategies, methods and tools.
Appealing to different age groups and industries, I take my audience on a journey of a young and successful entrepreneur, sharing with them personal stories, tips and habits that have helped me get to where I am today.
